YOKAWA TOWN
Yokawa is a small country
town in Hyogo Prefecture. A lot of people who live in Yokawa
are a farmer with a sideline business. Please come to my
town full of nature to play by all means!!(^O^)

1.Agriculture |
Agriculture
is the main industry of the town, which is yielding rice, vegetables
and fruits. Above all, the production of "Yamadanishiki,"
an excellent sake rice, is activity promoted. Also, the
town is pouring its effort into producing the town's own brand
specialties such as grapes, tomatoes, green peppers and black
soybeans. As for the manufacturing industries, such as,
fishhooks, "Koinobori"(carp-streamers) and Miyoshi-kago
(baskets), each traditional technique has been handed down up
to today. |

(1)Specialties
With such nature, good rice for liquor, sake, is produced
in Yokawa. What is more, it should be admired that people
have been protecting the rice for wind and water disasters and
making efforts or appropriate cultivation and its improvement.

There are two kinds of
grapes, îBerry Aî and ìPioneî. ìPioneî
is large grain, and is sweet and sour.

(2)Industries
The sensitive and graceful bamboo craft is one of the traditional
beauties. Miyoshi baskets are made to professional handmade
bamboo craft. These baskets are still used today and techniques
are continually being improved.

In
Japan, parents hoist carp streamers in the month of May to wish
for strong, healthy children. Carp streamers flown elegance
and originality. |

2.Festival |

ìYokawa Summer
Festivalî is one of the biggest events, which a lot of
people gather for from everywhere. Games, shop, traditional
dancing and fireworks at night. Huge flowers spread over
the sky. |

In addition,
there are ìYahoo Festivalî, Wakamiya shrineís
fall festival, sports or culture festival, etc. |
